भारत में प्रत्येक वर्ष 14 अगस्त को विभाजन विभीषिका स्मृति दिवस मनाया जाता है। केंद्र सरकार ने 2021 में 14 अगस्त को इस दिवस के रूप में मनाने की घोषणा की थी। इसका उद्देश्य विभाजन के दौरान विस्थापित और प्रभावित लोगों के संघर्ष, पीड़ा एवं बलिदान को याद करना तथा सामाजिक सद्भाव, एकता और मानवीय संवेदनाओं को मजबूत करना है।
